THE WEsleYAN SCHOOLS
Houghton University is a liberal arts institution that challenges students to academic excellence – in the context of a relevant Christian community – and empowers them to enrich the world. The university offers more than 40 majors, three Honors at Houghton tracks, pre-professional training programs, and excellent experiential learning opportunities. With just over 900 students from around the world, the main Houghton campus is located in Allegany County, just 65 miles from Rochester and Buffalo, NY. Additionally, Houghton has extension sites in Buffalo and Utica, NY.
More than 55 percent of Houghton students study off campus before they graduate, learning and serving in more than 20 countries. Their professors – superb teachers and content experts – support their academic, emotional, and spiritual growth both on campus and abroad. Ninety-eight percent of graduates (five-year average from classes of 2012-2016) are employed or in graduate school within nine months of graduation.
With more than 80 majors from which to choose, students can pursue what they are passionate about and learn from faculty who are experts in their fields. Smaller class sizes allow students to take a more active role in their learning experience. IWU maintains a 14:1 student-to-faculty ratio, allowing faculty to invest in each individual and their future.
IWU recognizes that getting a college education is about more than simply earning a degree. It’s about building relationships while discovering God’s calling on one’s life. Through self-assessments and one-on-one mentoring, students are assisted in uncovering and developing their passions, talents, and strengths. By graduation, students are well equipped with the knowledge and experience necessary to change the world.
become part of a vibrant community of faith. As they fully engage in university life, they grow
deeper in their walk with the Master and are prepared for a lifetime of effective leadership in their
chosen area of Christian ministry.
The Kingswood experience fully integrates faith and learning based on three pillars:
- Academic Excellence
- Practical Ministry Experience
- Intentional Spiritual Formation
Each of these pillars is a vital part of our mission! Excellent academic programs and learning
experiences that develop practical ministry skills are creatively blended with intentional spiritual
formation to form highly effective Christ-like servant leaders who have a global impact.
Kingswood is a fully accredited educational community of passionate Christian teachers and
learners who believe in Jesus Christ, His Church and the power of the Gospel to transform lives.
Christ. Scripture. Truth. Wisdom.
As an evangelical Christian university of The Wesleyan Church, OKWU models a way of thought, a way of life, and a way of faith grounded in these four pillars. We are a place of serious study, honest questions, and critical engagement, all in the context of a liberal arts community that feels like family.
Located in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, OKWU is a four-year, nationally-accredited university. As one of the country’s leading institutes of Christian higher education, Oklahoma Wesleyan has received recognition from U.S. News and World Report, Forbes.com, CBSNews MoneyWatch, and more, both for our excellent academic reputation as well as our missional integrity.
At OKWU, we’re impacting culture with the Lordship of Jesus Christ – standing unapologetically for the only Truth that brings healing and wholeness to a broken world.
Wesley Seminary prepares Christian leaders to engage in missional ministry locally and globally. We seek to do so by fulfilling our vision to be transformational, accessible, comprehensive, and global. Through our masters and doctoral degrees in a variety of specializations, we come alongside those called to ministry, vocationally or as volunteers, and provide new knowledge, skills, and experiences to enhance the ministry God has called them to do.
